Police expect to be on scene until almost 4 p.m.

Police issued the following press release at 3:01 p.m.
At 11:29 a.m., today, Eugene Police received a call regarding what appeared to be a suspicious device in the area of 27th between Alder and Hilyard. Metro Explosives Disposal Unit responded to check the items, and the area of 27th between Alder and Hilyard has been closed off to allow police to check the items.
They are still checking and it will be at least another 45 minutes before we have more information.
