PeaceHealth opens facility in Market of Choice on Willamette Street

PeaceHealth Medical Group and Market of Choice are partnering to offer a new and convenient health care option to the community: PeaceHealth Check-up.

PeaceHealth Check-up is a 300-square-foot medical facility located inside Market of Choice at 67 W 29th Ave., in south Eugene’s Woodfield Station shopping center. It offers select health and wellness services, including immunizations, screenings, and treatments for minor conditions, such as earaches, sinus infections, skin conditions and bladder infections. It is currently the only health and wellness center of its kind located inside a retail store in the state of Oregon.

PeaceHealth Check-up is designed to increase access to quality health services in our community. With this model of care, which is catching on across the country, PeaceHealth can offer convenient and affordable routine wellness care to people on a walk-in basis, while they shop.

“We designed the services offered at PeaceHealth Check-up to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety, in addition to convenience,” said Dr. Jill Chaplin, Chief of Adult and Family Medicine at PeaceHealth Medical Group.

PeaceHealth Check-up is open 7 days a week. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday/Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Shoppers can simply sign in to see the nurse practitioner and take a pager with them. The pager will alert the shopper when the nurse practitioner is ready to see them. 

PeaceHealth Check-up is staffed by highly qualified nurse practitioners with PeaceHealth physician backup. The affiliation with PeaceHealth allows the nurse practitioners to access PeaceHealth’s extensive electronic medical record (EMR) to coordinate and document a patient’s visit and treatment.

It’s important to note that PeaceHealth Check-up is designed to handle routine wellness care and minor illnesses and is not a substitute for the higher level of care provided in a doctor’s office, urgent care or emergency room setting.
