Cougars follow woman at Spencer Butte Park | News

Three cougars were spotted Wednesday morning in the Spencer Butte Park area. Eugene Police Sgt. Jim Ball says the cougars reportedly followed a hiker as she walked to the parking lot.
The park is not closed but visitors need to be aware of the danger. Sgt. Ball advises people to stay clear of the park.
Oregon State Police have been advised and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is being notified.

As of approximately 6:30 am this morning, three cougars were sighted in the Spencer Butte Park area. The cougars were reportedly following a hiker as she walked to the parking lot. Park users need to be aware of this danger and take this into consideration if they chose to visit the park. At this time it would be advised to stay clear of the park.
At this time the Oregon State Police have been advised and notification is pending for Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
