Arrest made in 30th and Onyx hit-and-run accident
EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene police say they have made an arrest in the hit and run accident that left a bicyclist in the hospital. The accident happened in Eugene on 30th Avenue near Onyx Street. The bicyclist, Hart Godbold, has been released from the hospital.
Police say they arrested 23-year-old Joshua Gene Clifton, a Springfield resident. Clifton is at the Lane County Jail charged with:
- Felony Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Reckless Driving
- Initiating a False Report
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor)
- Speed Racing
Police are still investigating and say there is the possibility a second driver was involved in the accident. They will not provide any more details.
